Danielle Layton is a doctoral student in the Qualitative and Quantitative Research Methodology PhD program at Indiana University Bloomington.
Danielle holds a Masters degree in Social Work from the University of Southern Maine, and Bachelors degrees in Psychology and English from the University of Maine at Farmington. Prior to coming to IUB, Danielle worked in applied justice policy research at the Catherine E Cutler Institute for Health and Social Policy in Portland, Maine. Danielle's past research work has focused on school-based policing, youth engagement in public health and educational policymaking, maternal incarceration abolitionism, and violence against women program evaluation. Danielle is drawn to qualitative and arts-based methodologies that draw out complex and nuanced human experiences as they simultaneously shape and are shaped by public and economic systems.
